SKB 10 space rack case $150 (costs $300 new!)
CASE ONLY! (rack gear also for sale, separately)
SOLD!

This case is very clean, hardly used, was kept in a home studio. About as close to new condition as you could ask for.

SKB 8 space rack case $120  (costs $280 new!)
Again, has been in a home studio, in nearly new condition.
SOLD!

SKB 2 space rack case $75 (costs $160 new!)
This is a very handy case to have. I used this fairly often to carry around a couple of favorite pieces of gear. It has been used, but gently. Being a smaller case, it is easier to carry, the net weight is lighter and it doesn't suffer as much as the the larger cases when fully loaded and schlepped to too many gigs. Is in just as fine shape as the others for sale here.

Whirlwind 100 ft. Snake - 16 X 4 X 4 (16 XLR Send, 4 XLR AND 4 - 1/4" TRS Returns) $150 ($400 new!! at least!!)
Used but good, working condition. Last checked, all channels and returns were working. I have not hooked this up in a while, it's been stored in a trunk, and since I'm not using it, I'm putting it up for sale. $150 is a great price.
SOLD!

Digitech digital delay + multi effects DSP 128 - $75
Excellent sounding delay/reverb + chorus and flanging effects unit. Perfect for live sound with vocals. Easy to use, lots of presets and the ability to edit.

Quad Gate - DOD 844 $75

Very useful piece for your rack. Great for miking drums and also for vocal mics that tend to feedback or that are not used constantly (background vocals). MADE IN USA.

Four discrete channels of gating.

2 - 31 Band Graphic Equalizer $50 each ($150 each, new )
DOD 831 brand

These are the larger, full-width, two space 31 band graphic EQ. I like the larger size as it was easier, with the longer faders, to dial in just the right amount of boost or cut when finding feedback issues with your P.A.

These were ordered together, but the two units you see here were shipped. I was told that they were identical units with cosmetics having changed from one to the other.

Balanced, 1/4" TRS connectors on the back, plus RCA connectors to use with home stereo, home theatre system. MADE IN USA.

Fender P-Bass Precision Bass and Peavey Head & Cabinet

Bass Rig For Sale - Washington, D.C. area - local pickup
1994 Fender Precision Bass & Peavey 200H Century Bass amp head and cabinet - $600 for all.
Reply to: sale-8vcdr-2110384091@craigslist.org for the duration of the c-list posting, until around 12-20-2010

I would like to sell these together. If you are more interested in one or the other, please let me know.

Here is a nice Fender Precision Bass which is for all intents brand new.

Purchased around 15 years ago in NYC from the great Matt Umanov's Guitars on Bleecker Street in Greenwich Village, it was played for about ten hours and then has sat in the case. This was a purchase for my then-wife who is a professional violinist. She loved the bass and wanted to play around with it. We bought this P-Bass from Umanov's and because she has small hands and plays the violin, the craftsmen at Matt Umanov's set it up to be very playable by someone who does not have strong hands. Nice light action, all adjustments made and a lighter gauge set of strings. The peghead has this labeled as a "Fender" Precision and with the small "Squire Series" label on it. It was the "standard" model and it is suitable for a beginner and one need never seek another bass.

IDEAL FOR A BEGINNER/SOMEONE WITH SMALLER HANDS!! If you have someone who wants to learn the bass or someone with smaller hands who doesn't want to knock themselves out trying to play an instrument that is beyond their strength or capabilities, this is the one to get!

It has never been out of the house! This thing is practically brand new. The finish is absolutely spotless. Not a single blemish, or scratch or dent anywhere in the finish. The frets show absolutely no wear. The Rosewood Fingerboard shows no wear. The finish on the neck is still has its satin sheen (if you've played a recent model Fender instrument, you'll know that the satin finishes are quickly burnished to a gloss from handling). The maple neck has already started getting that very nice amber tone that you'll only see on aged wood. This is a perfect specimen of a very desired instrument. In the white on white color scheme with rosewood fingerboard. Comes with the original gig bag, I couldn't find the original hang tags and owners manual.

The Peavey Century Extended Range Musical Amplification System head and Peavey L115 Cabinet

This set-up makes an awesome bass rig for what will be a very attractive price. The head is also labeled on the back as the  "200 H Power Module". I have had this amp head and cabinet since around 1990. It is solid state, it puts out a lot of sound and the speaker and cabinet sound great. The cabinet has 1 - 15" speaker. I don't know the brand of speaker in there but it is a full sounding, warm speaker that is capable of handling the output of this amp head.

The amplifier puts out 100 watts into 4 ohms, and the amp has some rather modern features that are still very versatile today. There is a pre-amp out and power amp in - a loop to take the sound from the pre-amp and put it through your choice of signal processing before going back in through the main power stage. There is a very useful set of tone controls with a low frequency and hi frequency shelving and a parametric eq section for the midrange. These are extremely useful controls. There is a control for the pre-amp stage gain, a "saturation" gain control which will introduce some pleasing clipping or distortion to the sound, and there is a main gain control for the power amp stage.  There are inputs for High Gain or Low Gain all of which will give you the ability to dial in a variety of very nice tones.

The amp and cabinet are in very good condition. Because I don't use this and it just sits here in the house, the pots on the amp do have a little scratchiness to them. They just need to be cleaned. The tolex covering on the amp head and cabinet is in good condition with a few small nicks and tears. Nothing too much. Please study the photos.

This amp puts out a lot of sound and it will hold it's own in just about any situation. The versatile tone shaping controls along with the sealed 15" speaker will give you a full and very warm bass sound.

The cabinet is around 24" high and around 30" with the head sitting on top. The cabinet weighs 75 very solid pounds. The amp head is around 20 lb.

This is new to me

I am brand-new to this web log stuff. The word, "blog", sticks in my craw.

I discovered Adrian Belew's web site, replete with web log, today, which inspired me to put a small stake out here in the ethereal ground here for my own spot.

I don't have much to add just now. These days I'm focussed on playing the guitar, jazz informed by twanging country sensibilities. It's good to be back into playing again.

I have retreated mightily into cinema of yore. I could be at peace dwelling in a world that is all black and white and where the night hangs heavily, the shadows are long and dramatic and everyday conversation is thoroughly hard-boiled.

9-11 quite literally turned my life upside down and I am only just now getting back to about 80% or so of what I once was. Playing the guitar was one of the things I didn't do for the last five years. Now that I am back in the DC area after an eighteen year reprieve, I feel the weighty electricity of so many fabulously talented telecaster twangers, past and present, seeping into my bones and I like it.
